Have you ever felt like you’re carrying the weight of the world—trying to hold everything together while wondering if peace will ever return? Maybe your relationships feel distant, or anxiety and self-doubt keep whispering that you’ll never measure up. You’ve tried to push through, pray harder, or stay strong for everyone else, but the heaviness remains. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone—and there is hope.
I’m Albert (Al) May, LPC, a licensed Christian counselor in Edmond, Oklahoma. For more than 30 years, I’ve helped people move from emotional exhaustion to lasting peace. I specialize in faith-based counseling, anxiety and depression therapy, and marriage and family counseling that blends practical tools with compassion and grace.
Therapy with me isn’t about advice—it’s about discovery. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed approaches, I help clients break free from the cycles of fear, shame, and pain that keep them stuck. Together, we’ll uncover what’s been weighing you down and chart a new course toward clarity, peace, and restored connection.
If you could imagine waking up with more calm, rebuilding your marriage, or feeling free from anxiety—what would that be worth?Call or email today to begin your journey toward hope and healing.
As a faith-based therapist, I honor each client’s spiritual preferences. Whether you want prayer and Scripture integrated or prefer a clinically focused approach, your beliefs will always be respected.
My path has included decades in ministry, education, and therapy. I hold master’s degrees in Counseling, Education, and Divinity and teach in the Counseling Department at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Outside the office, I enjoy time with my three grandchildren, mountain biking, and caring for my Siberian Husky, Akera.
